Two-piece jaw die replacement

In order to maintain the efficiency of the crushing process, it is necessary to periodically replace the worn out jaw dies located at the bottom of the crushing chamber. These jaw dies are carefully removed and replaced with new ones to ensure that the crushing process runs smoothly and effectively. Failing to replace the worn out jaw dies can result in reduced productivity and potentially costly machinery repairs. Therefore, it is important to regularly inspect and replace these components when necessary to ensure the longevity and efficiency of your crushing equipment.

At the bottom of the crushing chamber, the upper jaw dies are carefully installed after being work hardened.

At the uppermost part of the crushing chamber lies the placement of new jaw dies. This procedure involves installing new sets of crushing surfaces to ensure efficient and effective crushing process. By replacing old and worn-out jaw dies, the crushing equipment can continue operating at its optimal performance and avoid potential malfunctions and downtime.

Once you have installed a new set of jaw dies, it is important to rotate the single-piece dies once they have worn down to about 30% of the original tooth profile. This will ensure optimal performance and longevity of the jaw dies.

When the tooth profile at the bottom of the jaw die is completely worn, it is necessary to rotate for a second time. We should rotate again to maintain the efficiency and functionality of the jaw die.

There are 13 steps to change jaw plates:

To get ready for the job, we'll need a few tools. We'll need a 600 live-mouth wrench, some wire rope, a hand hammer, a mast, a sledgehammer, electric welding equipment, and a crane. With these tools, we can tackle just about any challenge that comes our way. Let's get to work!

Prepare new jaw plate

Make sure to stop the operation of the crusher and cease feeding it. It is crucial to prioritize your safety by wearing insulated gloves, which will protect you from electric shock especially if your hands are wet.

Remove the screw of the old jaw plate

Using the overhead crane, lift the side plates after loosening the side plate screws. Finally, remove the side plate from its position.

Start by taking off the clamps and carefully taking out the stationary plate clamps, placing them to the side.

Ensure a strong and secure soldering of the welding hoisting ring to both the moving plate and the fixed plate to prevent any injuries during lifting. It's important to take this precautionary measure to avoid any accidents and mishaps while transporting heavy objects.

To initiate the lifting process, raise the jaw plate and activate the crane. Utilize the crane to hoist both the moving plate and the fixed plate, transferring them to the designated storage area for waste materials. It's crucial to exercise caution and closely monitor the crane while it's in operation. It is imperative to ensure that there are no individuals present below the crane to prevent any potential injuries or accidents. Additionally, it is important to utilize a sturdy wire rope for this task.
